02 Oct, 2007 - Paraguay: Next year new banknotes of Guaranies will be issued in the denomination of 50.000. They will take the image of Agustin Pio Barrios, known and outstanding Paraguayan musician, according to an announcement by the Banco Central Parguay. The authority counted the reason for which they decided to replace the image of the Paraguayan soldier by the one of the artist, to see more images. The Central bank of Paraguay (BCP) drastically decided to modify bills of 50 thousands for next year. No longer will appear the figure of the Paraguayan soldier but the image of the musician Agustin Pio Barrios, more known as Mangore. Also they will change the colors. This measurement was taken by the BCP "for security reasons", to avoid that the citizens confuse the bill of fifty thousands of the series C, that is outside circulation, with those of A and B that have value. "We had received the recommendation to so make a note totally different from the present one in form from that it could be different from those in circulation", explained BCP. It was added that the design of the new ticket already is in it's final stages, and that it is feasible that in March of the year that the notes will begin to circulate in the market.
