12 July, 2006 - A new 100 Rupee 2006 banknote has been released by Nepal with King Gyanendra's portrait and bearing the signature of Governor Bijay Nath Bhattarai, Sign. 16.
There is very slight change on the three lines on the front side from the previous issue, and Nepal is now using a new font for the serial number. The note is not listed in SCWPM, VOL III, 12th Ed. Compliments of Ronny Hick.
NOTICE: As we have obtained more information on the notes of Nepal we have had to reorganize this page to make things clearer.

A variety of the Nepal P45 Commemorative 10 Rupees ND (2002) Polymer note has been reported by Kai (Australia) of being printed with a black "mole" on the King's right cheek just below the sideburn. This variety has been verified by Peter Bauer who wrote that "Up till now, 99 notes with this error are known to me. Serial numbers 31 438739 to 31 438838." The note is listed in the Specialized Catalogue of World Plastic Money, 1st Ed. of 11.11.2004. The second edition is now available. Thanks also have to be given to Thomas Krause for his contribution.

NEPAL P46 5 Rupees ND (2002)
When Nepal first issued the P46a 5 Rupee note the portrait was darker then the rest of the note, thus they withdrew the note and replaced it with the P46b 5 Rupees with a ligher portrait as shown above. The scans may not show the difference as well as they should. The P46a crown is black and very distinct compared to the P46b which shows a little pink in the black thus blending in with the rest of the note. The pink color in the crown is also a dark pink in the P46a while a light pink in the P46b. |

NEPAL P47 2 Rupees ND(2002)
