24 Sep, 2007 - Mexico has released to circulation a 500 Peso note dated 19.6.2006. The note contains the signature of Guillermo Ortiz Martinez as Junta de Gobierno and Raul Valdas Ramons as Cajero Principal. Help for the blind: 4 broken horizontal lines right above the portrait of Zaragoza. No motif changes. Compliments of Ronny Hick. |

05 Sep, 2007 - Mexico: Ricardo Ramirez G. has provided us with an image of a Mexican polymer 20 Pesos note with date of issue 29 March 2006, and series Y on it (P116NL), which could be the last emission printed by the Bank of Mexico for this first family of polymer plastic 20 Pesos notes. |

20 Aug, 2007 - Banco de Mexico will place in circulation on Aug 20, 2007 a new 20 Pesos banknote. The note is part of a new family of banknotes started on September 2006 that started with the circulation of a new 50 pesos on mid November. |

18 Aug, 2007 - Mexico: Three new dates have been reported for the banknotes of Mexico: P117 50 Pesos 21.11.2003 Series EC; P118 100 Pesos 5.11.2004 Series DK; P119 200 Pesos 23.5.2006 Series DF. The 50 and 100 Pesos are signed by Guillermo Ortiz Martinez and Maria Elvira Herendira Hernandez Barba. The 200 Pesos note has the right signature of Barba. Compliments of Ronny Hick. |

03 Dec, 2006 - Mexico: Mutilated bank note redemption rules changed. The Banco de Mexico has made redemption of mutilated notes easier. While before a note had to be in practice more than 85% complete, now it is enough to have more than 50% with the left side serial number present. Note not listed in SCWPM, VOL III, 11th Ed. The bill, equivalent to $87, will begin circulating on 15 Nov 2002. About 50 million will be put into circulation. Central bank officials said they created the new note after noticing increased use of 200-peso and 500-peso bills. The purple-and-green-hued bill will feature the likeness of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, who led Mexico's 1810 independence on the front and the University of Guanajuato on the reverse. Mexico has placed into circulation a polymer plastic 20 Peso note with a new date of 25 May 2003 on it. This date begins with SERIE V, with two bars under the serial number. The note also has on it the signature of the new Chief Cashier, Maria Evelia Herendira Hernandez Barba, being it is the second issue to use this signature after the 100 Pesos note. The note contains one signature and two magnetic bars which are located in the upper left hand corner of the note. Standard Catalog of World Paper Money lists the previous Issue of the 20 Peso note as P116 2001 with two varieties. The a. Series A-F has two electronic sorting bars under the serial number upper left. The b variety, Series G has three electronic sorting bars under the serial number upper left. The new reported date has two bars and is series V. The three bars may have been an error, or a test. There has been no official statement concerning why that we are aware of. the new 20 Peso notes dated 2002 and 2003 are a new issue. |

Some additional comments by Ricardo Ramirez: "In my own experience I have noted that in this issue the only one that has on it both bar variety on the same series is the letter D! The normal would be that it would exist only with the series D with 2 bar on it. I don't know if the series D with 3 narrow bar variety corresponds to a test or a replacement issue.
