KENYA PNL (Sim P45) 1,000 Shillings 1.4.2006

26 Oct, 2007 - Kenya has released into circulation a new date of 1.4.2006 for it's 1,000 Shilling banknote similar to the P45. Also reported is a new Govenor appointed in March 2007, Njuguna Ndung'u. Compliments of Andrew Roberts.

04 Sep, 2007 - Kenya: At issue is the fact that the government is committing the country to a multi-million deal without having conducted a due diligence on the company. Top executives of British currency printing firm De La Rue Currency & Security Print Ltd have arrived in Nairobi to negotiate the sale of a 25 per cent stake in the local subsidiary of the currency-printing conglomerate to the Kenya government.

KENYA PNL 500 Shillings 1.6.2006

04 Jul, 2007 - Kenya has released into circulation a new PNL (P44) 500 Shilling banknote dated 1.6.2006. * SCWPM VOL III, 13th Ed listed previous dates of this note at $16.00. We feel that this is undervalued due to the exchange rate. Compliments of Andrew Roberts.


16 Jun, 2007 - Kenya has issued a new 500 Shilling banknote with the date of April 1, 2006. No other information is known at this time. Compliments of Nazir Rahemtulla.



KENYA PNL 200 Shillings 1.4.2006

01 Feb, 2007 - Kenya: A new 200 Shilling banknote has been report for Kenya with the date of 1.4.2006. Compliments of Andrew Roberts.


03 Dec, 2006 - Kenya: The battle for the multibillion-shilling bank note printing intensified after three companies withdrew at the last minute. Compliments of Cleo Phas.


05 Nov, 2006 - Andrew Roberts has provided some additional info to Mr. Pesos? info regarding the Kenya notes. The information he provides also includes the 500 and 1000 Shilling notes having the denomination in the watermark area commencing with the 2004 issue. Also all denominations for 2005 ( 50,100,200,500,1000 ) and 2006 ( 50,100 ) have watermarks at all four corners which appear to resemble stripes, these watermarks do not appear on the previous issues up to 2004.



KENYA PNL 100 Shillings 1.4.2006

4 Nov, 2006 - Kenya has issued a new 100 Shilling note, dated 1.4.2006. Compliments of Andrew Roberts.



KENYA P41 50 Shillings 1.4.2003 and 2.2.2004 Differences

1 Nov, 2006 - JM Peso has provided an image of the Kenya P41 50 Shillings 1.4.2003 and the 2.2.2004 showing a difference between the two notes. The note dated in 2.2.2004 have a "50" as a watermark in watermark area, below the Lion head. The 1.4.2003 dated note does not. JM Peso has also indicated that he has the 100 Shillings notes dated 2.2.2004 and 2.8.2004 in which both notes have the watermark "100".

The 200 Shillings dated 12.12.2003 - conmemorative does not have a numeric watermark.

The 500 Shillings 1.4.2003 does not have the numeric watermark.

The 200 Shillings 2.8.2004 (general issue - non conmemorative) carry the "200" in the watermark area.
