18 Mar, 2007 - Kazakstan: Omer Yalcinkaya has provided some information concering varieties of the Kazakstan notes which are not mentioned in the SCWPM, VOL III, 12th Ed. First there is a new issue of 100 Tenge similar to P13, but issued in 2001; A new issue 200 Tenge note similar to P14, but issued in 2002; An error in value for the P26 5000 Tenge Note; and a spelling error in the new 2000 Tenge 2006 note. |

Kazakksan issued the P13 100 Tenge in 1993, however, there was also one issued in 2001 which is not listed in the SCWPM. The difference is the security device upper left is not changing color as it used to be in P13 100 Tenge issued in 1993. But this is a very difficult to identify at first glance. A better way is to identify by serial prefix letters. The P13 100 Tenge notes have the cyrillic prefix letters : А Б В The 2001 issue has the prefix letter: Г |

Kazakhstan issued a 200 Tenge dated 1993 (P20), however they also issued a 200 Tenge in 2002 similar to the P20. It has an entirely different security feature lower right than P20 200 Tenge dated 1999. Another major mistake of the SCWPM regarding Kazakhstan is that the P26 5000 Tenge is priced as the P24 5000 Tenge. P24 is an an extremely limited commemorative issue. It should be priced at least two times higher than the regular note. |

A PNEW 2000 Tenge, dated 2006, has an error version with the word БAHKI misspelled with a tail in letter K. |
