30 Dec, 2005 - Italian 50,000 lire notes of 1984-90 P113a,b,c will cease to be legal tender as of 4 February 2006. These notes can be differentiated from the later ones, which are redeemable until 2012, because the value at the top left of center is printed with reddish ink, as opposed to optical variable ink, which is used in the notes that remain valid.
