11 Feb, 2007 - Honduras: The SCWPM, VOL II, 12th Edition lists a 20 Lempiras note, dated 3.9.1998, printed by FC-O. Previously this was thought to be an error in the catalog, or an unissued note, however an example of the note has been located. The catalog value of the note is $6, the same as the P73 dates. The purchase price of the note from a dealer in Honduras was $18. Compliments of Ronny Hick. |

December, 2005 - As of this day, the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH) has begun circulating new notes of 50 and 20 Lempiras that were acquired from the German company Gieseck & Devrient with an approximate cost of 24,5 million Lempiras. After an international licitation, the BCH purchased from Gieseck & Devrient the amount of one billion Lemprias in the form of 25 million in 20 Lempira notes and 20 million of the 50 million Lempria notes. "As of today (Thursday) the first banknotes will enter circulation replacing notes that are worn and those retired from the market", informed Ariel Pavón, manager of the BCH.
