14 May, 2007 - Haiti: As first reported here on 18 Feb, 2007, Haiti has a new 10 Gourdes 2006 banknote which it has added as part of it's bicentennial issues of 2004. Gary Saint has now added this note as part of his Haiti website, Numismundo, and has provided additional details concerning the banknote. The banknote is a Sanite Belair 10 Gourdes bicentennial commemorative (1804-2004), but it is dated 2006. The serial prefix is B and it has signature AF; Raymond Magliore, Philippe W. Lahrens and Charles Castel. I have given it the numismondo catalog number of N.1246af. It is unknown if Haiti will issue further denominations with the 2006 date. Also reported is a Z replacement note for this issue displayed on his website, 3rd item down. This is the only replacement note I have seen for this series. |

18 Feb, 2007 - Haïti: The 10 Gourdes with date 2006 does exists. It's not the regular series such as the P-265, but it is part of the commemorative series from 2004 (P-272)! It's curious that they've issued a 25 Gourdes with year 2006 also, but this one is like P-266, the regular issue. The Signatures of 10 and 25 Gourdes 2006 are the same. 13 July, 2006 - In correction to our previous reporting Haiti has released both the expected 1,000 Gourdes 250th Anniversary Commemorative Banknote of Port-au-Prince and a 2004 dated 1,000 Gourdes. The reverse of both notes are similar and both feature a view of Port-au-Prince with the 1999 date to the left. The SCWPM, VOL III, 12th Ed. lists the Haiti P278 1,000 Gourdes 1999 (2006) note without a value under the heading of "2000 DATED 2004 ISSUE" and shows an image of a specimen Commemorative note so the listing is correct, but the heading is not.
