13 Aug, 2007 - Guatemala: By means of resolution of Monetary Meeting JM-160-2006 of the 20 of December of 2006, the printing of 60,0 million new polymer banknotes in the denomination of Q1.00 was approved. Compliments of Cleo Phas.

28 Mar, 2007 - Guatemala: On 21 Mar, 2007 we reported a a new Guatemala 20 Quetzales dated 25.8.2006. Ronny Hick has now provided some additional information on this new banknote.
Front side: Portrait Dr. Mariano Galvez, flying Quetzal bird, Maya-artefacts.
Back side: Signing of the Treaty of Independence of Central American Countries 1839.

Printer: De La Rue
The note is same design as P-108, but with a new printer (De La Rue). The last 20 Quetzales DLR made was P-62 in the Seventies, and Mid-Eighties. In 1998 DLR printed smaller denominations, P-98 and P-99 (5 and 1 Quetzal).

20 Mar, 2007 - Guatemala: A new date of 25.8.2006 has been reported on the Guatemala 20 Quetzales note. No change in the design of the note reported. Compliments of Michael Reissner.

02 Feb, 2007 - Guatemala: Recently Mrs. Ericka Castellanos, from the Banco de Guatemala, was asked about the new, expected notes from Guatemala. Mrs. Ericka Castellanos indicated that the 1 Quetzal banknote will be issued in polymer plastic, with release probably in May, or June. Thus far the Board has not approved the banknotes of denominations 200, 500, and 1,000 Quetzales. Submission of designs is now closed, but a winner has not been chosen as of yet. 25 Feb, 2007 - Guatemala is expected to issue a 1 Quetzal in Polymer plastics, and 200, 500 and 1.000 Quetzales in paper in May of this year. Compliments of Ronny Hick.
