09 Apr, 2007 - Great Britain: Mervyn King announced yesterday that the Bank will hold an auction later this year of low-numbered £20 Adam Smith banknotes, in aid of charity.

13 Mar, 2007 - Great Britain: The introduction of a new £20 note , the Bank of England's most common and most-often-forged bill, began today. Over the coming months, the 1.3bn £20 notes currently in circulation will gradually be replaced by a brighter design bearing the picture of the 18th century economist Adam Smith.

23 Feb, 2007 - Great Britain: The new-design £20 banknote from the Bank of England will begin being introduced into circulation from Tuesday 13 March. Compliments of T.J. Crowley.

30 Oct, 2006 - Great Britain's New £20 Banknote. The Bank has announced that a new-style £20 note will be issued in Spring 2007. The note will feature Adam Smith, one of the fathers of modern economics, on the back and will incorporate enhanced security features. It will be the same size and predominantly the same colour as the current £20 note.
