23 Dec, 2006 - The Banco Central Cuba has released a new 2006 series of Pesos Convertibles which includes all denominations. The series was placed into circulation from the 18th of December 2006. Two new characteristics that confer greater security to him have incorporated to all banknotes of this new Series: 1. The water mark (image of Jose Martí to the left) is now customized with the number of the denomination of the note. 2. They notes display different reverses for each denomination, in substitution of a common reverse of previous issues. 1 convertible Peso - CAIDA IN COMBAT OF JOSE MARTI On the obverse of banknotes the main monuments to heroes of Cuban elements are the same as those which appear in the previous emissions, displaying high accuracy and clearness, as well as relief to the tact. Main elements of security in this Series:
Water mark with the efigie of Jose Martí to the left, customized with the number of the denomination of the ticket. Thread of security with the text "MOTHER COUNTRY Or DEATH - WE WILL WIN" located to the left of the monument. Latent image with the abbreviations "BCC" that are straight made in the inferior end of the obverse when changing the observation angle visible. These new banknotes will circulate jointly with those of the previous emissions, which will conserve their legal use. General Information: All the payments in the establishments that operate freely in convertible currency in Cuba make exclusively in convertible weights (CUC). The convertible weights can be bought with other convertible currencies freely accepted in the country (Canadian, pounds sterling, Euros, Swiss Franken, Mexican pesos). To the rate of effective change in the country in the network of branches of the banks and Houses of Change (CADECA S.A..) The convertible weights also can be bought with dollars of the United States.
