07 Jun, 2007 - The Central Bank of Bangladesh has released into circulation a new 2007 dated 5 Taka note. While similar to the previous issue the 2007 note has a security strip with microprinting. Compliments of Ronny Hick. |

05 Jun, 2007 - The Central Bank of Bangladesh has released into circulation a new date of 2007 for it's 10 Taka issue (P39) which was first introduced in 2002. Obverse -National Emblem along with National Flower (Lotus) in the left hand side. Compliments of Ronny Hick. 05 Jun, 2007 - Bangladesh: In addition to the new 2007 dated 10 Taka note, the Central Bank of Bangladesh has also released into circulation a new 2007 dated 5 Taka banknote. 24 Feb, 2007 - Bangladesh has released a 2007 2 Taka banknote with a new signature (Siddique ur Rehman Chaudhry). In the watermark, a tiger's head, and a new logo for the Bangladesh Bank. Security strip on back side with microprint "BANGLADESH" in Bengali script. Compliments of Ronny Hick. 20 Feb, 2007 - Bangladesh: The Bangladesh Bank announced that it plans to issue 1,000 taka notes in the near future. Compliments of MRI Banker's Guide to Foreign Currency. 18 Feb, 2007 - Bangladesh: The first issues with year 2007 are released - 2 Taka. Same design and same signature as previous issue, the signature was made by Governor Salehuddin Ahmed. Compliments of Ronny Hick. 12 Feb, 2007 - Bangladesh: The central bank plans to issue a banknote of Tk 1000 denomination to facilitate people carrying a lower number of notes. The note is to bear the emblem of the Shaheed Minar on its one side and the Curzon Hall on the other. This note would be the first of its kind in Bangladesh. "Initially we are working on the design of the note which we expect to issue within six months if the government approves," a senior official, preferring not to be named, told bdnews24.com, Tuesday. He said that the central bank had taken the initiative considering the higher amounts people paid because of price spirals of essentials, and to give them the advantage of carrying a lower number of notes. 19 Nov, 2006 - Bangladesh: Some additional information has been supplied by Ronny Hick on the new 5, 10 (Shown above), and 20 Taka (Shown above) 2006 Notes. The 5 and 10 Taka are smaller than the previous issues, and there are 2 varieties of 20 Taka 2006 existing. The difference is the security thread - on first issue you can see the metallic silver strip on the reverse side and on second issue (Shown above) you'll find it on the front of the note. |

17 Oct, 2006 - Bangladesh has released a new 5 Taka note similar to P25, but dated 2006, and is reported to have been printed on 100 Taka paper. It is also reported that the note is an emergency issue in response to lack of coinage in the market place and will only be issued during till the end of the Muslim holiday Eid.
